ive hunted the net and simply cannot find any good sorce material on the dimensions of bren guns.what i want is any plans or engineering diagrams detailing the outside dimentions of the bren gun in order to begin an airsoft bren project .failing that has anybody got a deactivated bren near-ish to guildford who would let me have a look and measure and drool a little probably .
any help would be really apreciated as ive found a depressing lack of info on my own ,even if its a book you could recomend that would still be good ,at the moment im down to trying to scale up demensions from photos and thats not to acurate but i did that with my fist attempt at a sten ,the bren is a lot more complex though,
thanks in advance

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.

When I want plans, I use google sketchup ( a free 3d drawing program ), it has a 3d warehouse with lots of 3D models, including Bren guns.
Just be aware that these models are provided by Sketchup user's and may not be exact scale.

Yea might be worth talking to someone with CAD so that they can turn a 2D elevation in sketchup into a scale drawing and plot it. I wouldn't trust someones 3D model in sketchup, I use it extensively for work and amateurs models tend not be scaled

think ive just found the rosetta stone ,i found a site that has the overall length of the mk 1 and mk 2 from there i can scale up from photoes and ive ordered a 1/16 scale model ,from there i should be ok i think ,im just supprised its so hard to find ,was seriously thinking of buying a deactivated bren to work from and then sell it when im done ,their only around £350 compared to £850 for the shoot and scoot.it was so mutch easier doing the sten a few years back you can surf up the plans for that but the bren seems not to beb found.

i may take you up on the offer at some point ww2 enthusiast but for now wallace has been kind enough to let me climb all over his de-ac and photo some of the details but his is a mk1 and ive decided to make a mk2 ,and im sad to say i cant justify buying yours graeme as ive got nearly all the original parts that i need for the build.
