now i have a brit holster and lanyard, i have " anglicised" my 1911, is this how they would look with the ID disc and the lanyard.-- attachment is not available --

Looks ace.

Actually there was a clip for the lanyard, the ring may have been an option though, not sure!

i have a small clip, but its shinny shinny shinny and to be honest its not that HD, i am a bit worried about it breaking .

Mine is a small shiny little clip as well... It's never let me down.

When Major saw it he said they had the same one when he was in the forces.

From what I understand the main mistake on mine is that its not brass.

You may have trouble getting the red disk on though! I haven't bothered on mine.

Please note, I may have got it completely wrong. I've not done much research.

You can use a ring as well as the "offical" clip. My deactivated Colt 1911 came with a ring attached to the lanyard loop, after research this later turned out to be a pull ring from a Mill's 36 Grenade.

Red Id disks were a common feature on service firearms especially with RAF revolvers as aircrew booked them out daily from the armoury and thus was easier to ask for yours by your name or service number compared to trying to remembering the weapon serial number :P
