Forgive me if this has already been covered.
I've just bought a Browning HP and whilst taking it apart and fiddling with it (as no instructions in the box) I noticed the two holes under the breech that No1_sonuk was talking about in an earlier thread (when the HP was first released) which supposedly were for a hop grub screw.. This got me thinking and doing a bit of digging.. I then find out ehobby is selling a WE HP with an adjustable hop up and then see this quote on the WE High Power page on Airsoftworld.net..
UPDATE - For some reason, WE have omitted a single small screw from the chamber which activates the hop unit. Oddly this is applied from the BOTTOM of the chamber, but we have tested one of these and it does work - don't ask us how! We are currently sourcing a supply of these and will fit them to all orders from now on. Customers who have already bought these pistols can contact us and we will post the screw out to them.
Could it really be that simple?
So after having a look at the inner barrel and how it just pushes into the breech (sleeve like) with a grub screw to hold in place.. I think the hop up is just an O ring type affair which is sandwiched between the end of the barrel and the back bit of the breech, just waiting for the afore mentioned grub screw to push on it and make the hop adjustable..
I haven't had chance to contact Airsoft world yet but looks like it could be a bit of good news for Browning owners.. Then again I know very little about the workings of blow back pistols so could be completely wrong.. Which happens alot..
Regards Chris.
Ps. It has just dawned on me though that if the grub screw pushes up it wouldn have the opposite effect and be a hop down??? Guess a phone call to airsoft world may answer that one..

Yes. The screw is even shown on the exploded drawing.

This was discussed somewhere (I think on The Fort forum - Airsoft World's forums) and the theory is that the screw pushes the BB up into the hop rubber, but the the lower contact breaks before the upper, making the back-spin.
I already have a screw for mine, I've just not got around to getting the gun and screw in the same place. I should probably do that before it gets too cold out...
Thanks for that No.1... Now for the next question.. I read your discussion on the zeroin forum, so would you recommend a 5mm x m3 or 8mm x m3 grub screw?
Regards Chris..

I only have M3 x 5mm, so I'll see how that goes...
I've just been out and bought a 5mm and and 8mm (just in case).. Got home, tried to put one in and the hole on mine isn't threaded.. So now I've got to dig out my taps from the bottom of my tool box.. Maybe some stock have the threads and others don't.. Not a huge job to run a tap through it though..

Interesting.
Where did you get yours? I got mine from UN Company, shortly after they first came out. Mine has the thread.
I bought it from Evike airsoft in Los Angeles last week.. It came with the orange tip which is a bugger to get off as they superglue the threads.. Did work out at £64 though.. Funny thing was it came in a plain brown box with no instructions either. But it works fine as I tested it in the store before buying it..

Threads?
Funnily enough, when I looked last night I realised I had fitted the screw, but I'd forgotten, and haven't tested/adjusted it yet. Maybe this weekend.
Just put an M3 Tap through the hole, cleaned it up and fitted an 8mm m3 grub screw , easy peasy.. Unfortunately I don't have any green gas to test it with.. Bugger..
