looking to build bolt action springer kar 98 , will be making the stock and some metal parts myself , so looking for some help on which action would look best , not going fot total authentic look apart from stock , but if there is something very similar that would be great. just looking for a summer workshop project.

i think the universally adopted donor gun is a clone vsr ,most people go for the jg bar10 as it accepts upgrade parts for tm vsr's, I've used a tercel vsr clone that was even cheaper or use a tm vsr if you have the dosh .they all have the advantage that the mag sits almost perfectly flush along the bottom of the stock, however the cocking handle is all wrong and the breech needs a little work too.what most people have done is get a dboys shell ejecting k98 as a donor for many parts including a complete wood stock, the cocking handle ,front barrel assy ,rear sight etc etc... rather than making it all from scratch,it saves a huge amount of time but i'll grant you its a dearer way of doing it.
