Escort have just announced that they are building a gas blowback system that will work off of external HPA/CO2 rigs.
So whats the big deal?
It's designed to fit in unmodified V2/V3 gearboxes (though I dare say I can get it to fit in a whole lot more than that one i've fired the mill and lathe up)
I think my MP40's will be getting this. GBB MP40 thats *not* a Marushin? hell yes! Not just that, but given that you don't need to have a whacking great big motor assembly bolted to the gearbox, there's more chance of getting it into custom guns that have less space inside them to play with- PPsH, STEN etc etc.
Price will be around 200 USD per unit, though you also have to remember that on top of that price you'll need a bottle, regulator, coiled hose etc etc.
The best thing - from a German point of view - is that you can get bottle/reg setups that will fit inside a gasmask tin.

now that is good news jay, i used to have an escort m16a2 and it was one of the best guns i have owned. i never see the gas bottle as being a problem and the sound of the thing going full auto was amazing.

Aye, I used to run a Sun Project M16. Awesome gun. What *really* appeals to me about this system is that you get to use standard AEG Hop-ups and barrels with it. The external pipework is something I got used to very quickly. And with an inline QD on the pipework, its a piece of piss to swap guns over.

Aye, i've heard of the AZR stuff. What makes the escort stuff appeal is that it can be dropped into an unmodified gearbox shell. Not sure if the same can be said of the AZR stuff. If so, then jobs a good 'un - more choice
