He's not got any in at the moment. Someone just bought 50 of them apparently! (all his stock).

If you're a user on here I hope you loose every last one of them ;) :P :D

im glad the review was a help.

it would be good to get a video clip of a few guys with cartridge k 98`s all shooting at an event, with decent sound editing we could mabye get it looking quite realistic

i love this gun, and im even thinging of going to a (dare i say it) open day skirmish, just to get some rounds down.

imagine the look as the multicam, nvg in daytime wearing, teflon hero packing a m249 with m4/203 combo as a backup, gets popped with one round from a 110 year old bolt action model

think he would take the hit????? :slap:

silly question eh

There were a couple like that at my last open day SISK (at the Hill, although warren is usually op top of things). I found shooting them in the head/hands/arse with my Tanaka was enough to draw an audible yelp and some jumping up and down - hence indicating they had been hit...

Hmm Im so far not so convinced. Got the real wood version in the other day and have just been testing it.
The accuracy is (so far) a joke. Past about 10 meters the BBs fly off in extremely random directions (some even curling up and over, something I've never seen a BB do before). Out of about 35 rounds fired I think only 1 went straight.

Now I am aware that several factors need to be taken into account here. Firstly I did degrease it and then reapplyed some silicon grease but there may still be issues with that. The hop rubber probably needs breaking in, and I was also using the free BBs it came with to test. I was about to use some nice 0.28s but the builders came round to remove the scaffolding so had to make a sharp exit.

Im hoping its one of these issues thats stopping it firing straight as so far its near unusable.

Other issues it has have been jamming of shells (quick action on the bolt is needed rather than slow which causes jamming) and the funny plastic guard (which of yet I cant see a need for) on the bolt getting caught - some careful carving of the plastic to round off the end has fixed this I think.

It FEELs great but Ive yet to be convinced by performance.

Right well upon a further test today (with some 0.28g BBs) it seems to be slightly better. It still jams, but I think more grease around the shell well would fix that.

However the accuracy is still poor. I stripped the whole thing down this evening and noticed 3 things. 1st the hop rubber is shocking quality and in theory should be replaced asap. Trouble is its not a standard TM type hop rubber and is more a half ring with a nipple in the inside middle.

2nd the barrel is an interesting 2 piece affair with the smaller tighter section joining into another larger section about 25cm in, meaning there is a drop in barrel size which will not help accuracy. Curiously I couldnt seem to be able to extract the 2nd tube so Im unsure if you could upgrade it at this stage.

3rdly I discovered a bump in the inner barrel right near the barrel exit. I suspect this is causing the issues with accuracy. At first I thought it was grease but it seems to be solid.

Will have to track down a needle file and grind it down this week sometime to see if that makes any difference.

im really suprised at what you got diggah

mines sweet, (the free ammo was shockng, but i only used 5 shots then went to marui .25`s)

up to 20m i can hit a chest size target 80% of the time.

my hop is dead on , ive not had to adjust it at all

seems to be a quality issue with them maybe ???

ive had a couple of jams, 3 or 4 i think, but ive fired over 200 rounds in the garden so far.

like you say diggah, a good solid "thrust" of the bolt and its fine, try and load slowly or with a poor grip and it jams a bit

Yeah its still the accuracy thats putting me off. At this rate I wont be using it at Bryansk only cos about 1 shot in 10 vaguely goes the right way :(

Fixed it! :)

It turns out some scrote in the manufacturing process had overtightened a grub screw right at the end of the barrel for holding in the 2nd part of the 2 piece inner barrel. this in turn had deformed the inner barrel into a nice little bump right near the exit thus making all the shots crap :) I filed this down and now everything is peachy :)

Actually Im surprised how accurate it is given the 2 piece inner barrel. Its something I plan to replace at some point anyway, but the trick will be finding one with its unique hop hole... oh and a new hop rubber cos this ones crap :)

Oh and the wood stock needs restaining :) Anyone know how best to go about this?
