knew I had it somewhere! York Guns are doing pukka De Lisle carbines that you need an FAC for cost £1150 info from Gun Mart March 2005 so they might be more now. weighs 8lbs 4oz, barrel is 7.5", overall length is 35.3", based on SMLE III, features modded Colt 1911 mag with 7 rounds, fixed barrel, tangent rear sight 100-600 yards, adjustable front blade for windage correction. York Guns are 01904 487180. Described as nose heavy in use, classic Enfield two stage pull but lightened to 3lb release. Mag change awkward. Bulets used in test were PMC .45 ACP 230 grain hardball at 830 fps-bolt needs firm handling. Gives a very curious signature-click of pin and a THOCK as the bullet exits. Loudest noise is reflection of strike from the back stop and walls of the range where he tried it out! (So if in open ground your quarry has had it!) Grouped at 2" at 50 yards. During war when testing a naval officer shot a duck at 400 yards through the neck-that aint too bad eh? The reviewer doubts its accuracy beyond 100 yards...

Part 2:
Went down to Original Reenactors Market (ideal if you're into other periods like me) and my good friend Andy Kirkham was there dressed in very nice ROC kit. He had a very tempting selection of SOE/Commando gear-good times-only problem is that I'm rather lacking in cash at present-bad times. Anyway I acquired his lists (he doesn't interweb) he's a very good smithy and makes excellent repro's:
Smatchet- hard pushed to find a real one-no worries Andy will do you one for £130
tyre slasher -£18
hat pin dagger- £25
double hook thrust knife- £35
wrist dagger, push dagger, lapel knife-all £40 each
1st patt and 2patt FS knives -£90
3rd patt- £29
windproof desert smock-£65-also available in olive green and white
toggle rope-£10
gas rattle-something you all should have when near me  £40
commando grappling hook and line-£60

he does do other things to order-I once had him make me a clyster (if you must know it resembles a bicycle pump and it would be greased up first prior to use....) so do see what he can do for you if interested. Please note he gets heaps of orders so its not like getting things from Replicators etc-you will have to be patient as there is a queue-probably up to 6-9 months-might be lucky and he may have one already available.
Anyway phone 01709 363 127 between 10 and 5 is best. He's in Rotherham (can't be helped eh?).
