I think you don`t need to be able to speak Flemish to see 10,000 BB`s in a couple of minutes for fire power :shock: Anyone brave enough to have a go at making one?

Boshman was looking at doing this a while back.

When I first started airsofting, there was a lot of ideas over the 'vortex' design of BB flamethrower - a mate and me built one.
Other examples of the design idea:

It certainly spewed out the cheap BBs, but the range was pityful as there is no hop and you have to have a high air pressure flow to sustain it. As there's a high output of BBs, this can very quite damaging to he look and ecology of a site, so the low tollerance requirements of the projectile allowed dried peas or corn curnells to be used. Very nice looking backpack they've made for that one though!

This .50cal has a vortex system inside, even though he's pointing the barrel slightly upwards from vertical, the drop-off of the BBs into the pond is pathetic.

Is this because you have several BB's in the barrel at the same time hence some drop close and some far :?
You really need only one projectile in a barrel at a time to get consistent results.

Much like a shower shell, I was going to use a moscart on the tank but when I tested one and it only had a range of 60ft I could see no point.
However room clearance with a Flame Thrower is different but I suspect a CO2 fire extinguisher system may be more on the lines and no BB's at all in a room. :D

i think the biggest problem would be the air supply, this must take a huge volume of high pressure air to keep it going.making it portable .... well it would be just as hard work to carry as a real flame thrower.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all

Why am I thinking that you are pointing to me Chomley :-)

To clarify this: I am not the owner and/or maker of this flamethrower: it is owned by a French WW2 airsofter named "bill". I hoped to see the flamethrower in action in a game last year in France, but he didn't took it with him.

The reported range is 15 tot 30meters and it uses compressed air. I am not aware of how-long you can utilise it. As I haven't seen it in action yet..

Some more pictures of this monster;

And the finished product, the Flammenwerfer 41:
