Just finished putting my Garand together though I'd share the photo of it with you.

Based on an AGM M14 that cost

i think it looks great, i think the slightly different upper reciever from the 14 improves the look

yes i have had bad experiences with gas lol (the kind you put in you airsoft weapons :P)
when will a company see how much money they could make with an electirc semi auto garand, if a single person can convert an m14 into a very good garand, then can't a multi-national corp do it en mass?

A lot of credit for this must go to 2nd Bat on the WW2AA forum. His help in sourcing all the parts and answering questions has been fantastic.

Thanks for your comments

Shortening the mags is a fairley straightforward process  I have completed two, with another 4 in progress, to say it is fiddly is an understatement. I have spent hours on my knees trying to find the bits the spring decided to chuck out at the most inappropriate moment

The knee is on the mend, this weekend will probably be a no go though.
Hope to see you soon

Looks fantastic! How and where did you source the parts for the conversion? I quite fancy one to add to my work in progress PPSH.

I was extremely fortunate in that 2nd Batt sourced all the parts for me for this project.
You can pick up parts on Ebay.com. For example, I got all the real steel M1 ammo clips for the mag conversion from the States on Ebay.

Being cheely here but I don't know an awful lot about Garands but could you post a list of the required parts, so I can collect them a bit at a time? If you have any info' on converting mags, that would be drinks all round!

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, and you may well all know this already, in which case I apologise in advance, but I'm pretty sure the american chap will sell you all the bits in one go as a kit.

Links can all be found under neillblume's post here -

With regards to the mags, I'll speak to 2nd Bat to see if he is happy about me passing on his 'secrets' about the mags.

As for parts:
Upper Handguard
ferrule/band between Upper Handguard & Forward Handguard
Forward Handguard
Forward Gas Assembly
The front ferrule I re-fashioned out of the part from the M14

2nd Bat did indeed do a kit, but reading the WW2AA forum you will see he is just specialising in complete rifles now. He may well be prepared to compile all the necessary parts you need but you will need to contact him direct on the other forum to ascertain availability. (That's what I did :D )
