That could be nice. The G&G M14 is very nicely finished rifle compared to the TM M14 and the G&G M14 real walnut stock is lovely. The trigger switches burn out, the trigger assembly was dodgy (they fixed that) and the gearbox is a nightmare to work on (3 hands required) but it's still a very nice rifle. I've often thought of making a Garand out of mine.

They don't arrive when advertised?

You wait ages for one, and then two arrive at once... ;)

That bottom loading mag looks like it won't fit in a cartridge belt.

Even if the magazines doesn't fit into the cartridge belt or the bandolier it's still a huge leap forward.

I disagree, if anything it's a step backwards. All our S&S or home made M14 / Garand conversions take mags we can slip into cartridge belts, no need for a GP or mag bag. I actually would have thought about buying one if the mags would fit.

I concur. I'd more then happily live with tiny-tiney mags if they fit in the belts and bandoliers.

My guess would be that expect it to be a bit cheaper and more widely available than S&S Garands. And better looking and extremely more easily available than most home made custom jobs.

I wonder if the mags could be "fettled" to fit in a cartridge belt... Is all the crap that makes them look nice in the magwell actually essential?

If so then several fettled ones in a garand belt and one good one for display purposes would work well...

Assuming that the mags will also be sold separately, I`m wondering how much tinkering it would take to make the mags fit the M14 Garand conversions out there ?

I was lucky enough to be at IWA this weekend and had a good look at this...The mags will be a pretty close thing but should fit in the garand belt pouches and bandolier, theyre a little wider but not as tall as an 8 round clip. The gun comes with 2 mags in the box but the gearbox case appears to have been modified slightly from the M14 so they fit differently. It is going to be a wood stock and full metal though :)

Ive a pile of pics to upload and get on here, so keep an eye open over the next few days and I'll update. :good:

Also have news on the G&G Kar98 and the Bren gun from Redwolf

As for buses? lol - apparantly the owners of ICS and G&G only live down the road from each other and have known each other for years, word slipped from ICS and G&G started to develop their own version

Your friendly neighbourhood G&G rep :good:

Confirming 6mm, this marking won't be on the finished product (this is just the prototype)

Magazine pushes in at the front and clips at the back, mag release is on the upper left receiver

Outer barrel is well finished

Magwell and rear part of the magazine; the nozzle on the gun is cut flush to fit the mag.

Magazine, the plate with the cutout clips into the mag catch on the left hand side of the gun

Gearbox is the standard G&G M14 locked to semi only and the only mod seems to be the cut off feed tube,(this one looks scrappy as its the prototype) according to G&G the gearbox is 100% compatible with the M14 apart from this part.

Stock will take a large battery

Garand bolt will rack and lock like the M14, receiver will have full Springfield trademarks.

bottom of mag, trigger assembly comes out as per the M14 and body wise, gun will break down like the real steel

sling mounts, gas block etc all look sweet

Please excuse the dodgy pic, the insert in front of the rear sight on the upper receiver is the mag release.

Overall, even though its only a prototype, the gun feels very nice, decent wood and all metal, having chatted to a couple of the G&G reps, there may be a plastic version stock, but there will be a wood version :good:
