Perhaps you may know that Digicon no longer make .43g or .36g bb's. They were never fantastic ammo to begin with but, at least they didn't curve upwards after 10 metres!

Anyway, looks like there's a new kid on the block for heavyweight ammo. The prices are ok and no ordering from abroad either. Blaster .2g ammo is pretty good, so fingers crossed for these, available in a variety of "heavy" weights. :good:

I can't recommend SGM's enough to be honest, although they are hard to find and relatively expensive, they are worth every penny for their superb consistency. You're absolutely spot on though, they are the ammo of choice for a decent spring rifle.

Another bonus about the .40g blasters is their colour. At long last, Tanaka users will be able to see their fall of shot.

I've got some blaster .30g bb ammo, but don't have space to try it.Would you like some to try Pete,or have you already used some?
Roy

I've tried the .3g blasters and wasn't that impressed to be honest but thanks for the offer. They have been out for a while though, so here's hoping that these new ones are better. The .3's I had were very soft and they marked very easily in both my spring and gas K98's. I suppose they were ok for general use but, as sniper ammo, they were well short of my required standards. I will give some of these newer .28g blasters a go though. If they are no good in my Mosin or Enfield, I can always use them as pistol ammo.

Cheers Pete, could be worth a try. I've been reading good things about Madbull .40s so I think I may try to get hold of some of them for my Tanaka. Anyone here tried them?

Someone over on asscock has done a limited test and got reasonable results but he didn't go into any real detail on what weapon he was using. He also only fired from the standing position, so, far from ideal for conducting a thorough test.

Ideally, anyone getting some to use in a Tanaka K98, should try them with different gases on a windless, reasonably warm day from the prone supported position. At the price and quantity you get for that money, there'd be no need to be stingy with them on a range session.

I've looked into these a bit more and it seems they may be decent enough. Perhaps not quite up to SGM standards but more suited to higher powered/gas rifles and certainly better than straights. I definitely think I'll give them a go. Its also been suggested that these and the Madbulls are the same thing anyway.

AA also now have the Madbull heavies in stock at a cheaper price than the blasters- £15 for 2000.
