The gas release valve blew. I managed to find the spring and a C clip was inside the magazine. Apart from that all I have is an empty shell.

I really need this fixed fast but I cannot find another valve like it anywhere. I have emailed evike and ironairsoft.

This could have been quite nasty as the internals of the valve came out at quite some speed. Fortunately my scope mount deflected it.

Eventually found the inch long brass core of the valve. It had deflected off the scope mount and penetrated a cardboard box 3 meters away. I think I may have managed to repair it but am putting off testing it. Without the scope mount, the brass core would have been blown into my face.

That sounds really, really dangerous  Another reason why I'm, never going to get another gas gun. Glad you are OK but sorry your rifle is broken.

Cheers
Martin

Well after several weeks trying every possible O ring, I am at the end of my tether. I can get the gun to shoot but it leaks ridiculously and the fps is stupid. I took it to Copenhagen but it shot 472fps with 144a gas and would only manage 3 shots between fills. Evike want me to send the gun back to see if they can repair it, but say they don't have the parts (can't see that working) and Ironairsoft eventually got back to me but they don't hold any parts either. I guess I will keep trying and might revamp the woodwork over the winter ready for May when I might be able to get hold of some new magazines.

Sounds crappy, sorry to hear it Russell - any chance of converting it to a springer a la the K98 conversions?

Converting it to springer would ruin the looks. Currently it field strips like the real thing and when it worked it was amazing fun to shoot. All I need is some spare magazines for it and It will be fully working again. Worst case scenario, I have to wait until May. When I get some mags, I might araldite the E clips on the gas release valves for safety purposes, in addition to all the leak fixing that will be needed :)
These are great guns that are let down by a lot of technical issues and lack of spares.

Edit: Lol just had a message from Ironairsoft saying that although they're sorry they can't help, they are impressed with my attempts to fix the valve and wishing me luck :D

Hi Russell
Sorry to hear about your issues. My release valve, even with remove the E clip still will not come out as the inner has been "curled" over. Anyway, in mine I found in mine a non standard 1.98 x2.97 ?(i.e almost a 2x3mm) O-ring did the job. Also O-ring adhered the bottom carefully to the cup, with superglue.

This got the mag working well and releasing consistantly.

Do you have pictures, as I have no idea what parts are missing?
All I have is the outer, the inner core and the spring and am trying to bodge a working valve using washers, O rings, E clips etc.
One of my most successful attempts so far was using bits cut from a rubber glove, araldite etc. I got it to shoot quite well but it leaked like a sieve.
