So today I decided to give building my own 30. Cal a go ( what I was thinking I don't know ) and despite Never doing anything like this before, I think I've got off to a pretty good start. So far I've machined the charging handle and the little toggle lift things that goes on the top loading plate ( pics to follow tomorrow). What is perplexing me the most is how to mount the airsoft gubbins inside the shell. I know I'm a long way off that part yet but, any help would be awesome. I have plans for the .30 cal but any advise or help that anyone can provide would be appreciated.
Stay posted and watch this space
Cheers
Good stuff what about some Pictures they tell a 1000 words
I'm gona chuck some up tomorrow klein, this project could take a while though since I'm making everything from scratch :/
The shoot n scoot 30 cal (we were using on the weekend) has the gearbox mounted in between 2 "slabs" of resin to make a close fitting sandwich. It is held in place buy a spring at the front (around the barrel) which pushes it backwards and a screw through the side of the "receiver" that stops it going as far as the backplate.
A handy set of images I used when cutting the sheets for mine (then promptly going no further with it )
EDIT:P90,M249/Sten&Mp40 gearboxes are supposed to be the most desirable for this project by the way, Good luck!
How do we upload pics on hear guys?
How do we upload pics on here guys?
I tend to avoid built in uploaders so:
You will need to upload them to a hosting site first, I use http://imgur.com/ personally as you don't need to sign up for anything to use the uploader. Once its uploaded click on the image so that its all your browser is displaying then copy the address of the image in between this code:
For example
hope that helps and makes sense
Progress so far I did these on Wednesday / Thursday .
Cocking handle and the lifting toggle thing that goes on top of the loading cover
