been looking at photos ad they look like small shotgun mags to me, so instead of the 8 round mags they suggest hopefully we will be able to get atleast double capacity

No, that's just the plate on the bottom of a garand. It's there on real ones as well.
That is just a rapid prototyping mock-up and doesn't show at all what it'll really look like.
It may well be that what you're suggesting is what they have planned, but I'm afraid I don't think you have proof there.
Unless there doing what i am planning to do to and make "plates" for the bottom of the mags to make it look realistic when it is in the gun.

But then they might not fit in the garand belt. Which would be a shame.
doesnt matter if you have an 82nd 101st Airborne impressions with rigger pouches 
and they may fit in a garand belt although not yet made a mock up mag!
ah well, never had a hold of a proper garand before, just an m14 with shotty mags.
i've two spare rigger pouches floating around somewere so just fill them up if they wont fit in the bandoleers
Well I have asked them to make sure the mags fit in a garand belt, so we'll have to see if they took any notice.
