Well it took me a while to track down a decent looking stock for my MP001 conversion project but I managed to find a guy who has them literally coming out of his ears! His name is Mario and is based in the Netherlands. He also trades under the bay name 5mei -http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/5mei. Email addy - kabalt1945@planet.nl or 5mei@planet.nl
He is a very informative person on k98's.
Here are the pictures of my stock:

It cost me 170 Euros (£133) including shipping to the UK. Ok so it cost me a little more than I really wanted to spend but I know that it was money well spent considering that you get an original German WW2 stock, with matching handguard, bands, and band spring.

Like I said in my original post I paid more than I would have liked but seeing as this is a totally one off project for me so I'm not too bothered. These stocks that Mario sells are not Russian captures, re-conditioned or re-works which lowers their value. They are original Norwegian capture stocks which the Germans left at the end of WW2 so have not been messed around with like the Russians did.
By the way Sgt.Heide did you do anything to the outside stock when you converted it? Was yours laminated, covered in cosmoline, shellaced, etc etc? Did you strip and stain it? I'm going to need to strip mine and re-stain it as the Norwegian lacquer seems to be ammoniated, and bleached the wood.

I just gave mine a very light keying with fine sandpaper and then rubbed wood wax into it. Apart from that, the only thing I did to the outside of the stock was to very lightly dremel away a small groove for the MP001 bolt handle so that it sat flush to the stock.

That's ok, I'm used to it! Glad to help out and see more bolt actions in use.

Oh before I forget - You said that you used 18mm tubing for the outer barrel. Is that inside or outside diameter?
