King Arms are bringing out a M1 Carbine. I hope its an AEG (like most of their other guns) but they have already reported they are making a gas blow back thompson. So maybe gas?

I am not sure that King Arms will go into new standard with gearbox.
AEG M1 Carbine will work but there should be new gearbox using non standard gears, piston, etc. Its easy to make aeg M1 carbine but i doubt that any company wil decide to create totaly new gearbox and parts. Especialy king arms - their toys are mostly based on other, and popular standards. Of course am talking about real aeg with bigger cylinder and some posibility for tuneing. Not that small pistol type puff-puff gearbox.

edit:
BTW there is another picture.

Info from other airsoft forum kar probably is the same as redfire kar98.

Uh, no it isn't. The carbine's receiver is simply too tiny for any rifle gearbox to fit. The only AEG carbines I've seen are with Skorpion gearboxes, and there was this Japanese guy who chopped up a gearbox up and realigned the pieces. I'd expect this to be GBB.

I have they have redisgned a gear box or the gearbox you speak of which was cut up was placed in the front of the rifle. A current M14 with a sligh modification could fit there.... have been toying with the idea myself. But we will wait and see! :good:

What he is trying to say is the same as you in a way “I am not sure that King Arms will go into new standard with gearbox.”
But he says it is easy for a company to make a new AEG gearbox for an M1 Carbine but expensive for them.
