Hi All,
The large cap mag that came with the mauser works fine. The short one I got online now leaks like an absolute b@stard out the bottom. Not the filler nozzle but between the base part and mag body. I tried treating the rubber 'washer' with silicone grease. I then tried wrapping it in ptfe tape. no joy :(
Any ideas on a remedy anyone?

Try tightening it if you can as my friend had one that leaked out the bottom of the mag and he fixed it by tightening it with a screwdriver. Saying that tho mine leaked out of both ends and no matter what I did it wouldn't stop. Had to get it replaced :( but the new o we are fine now no leaks :)

Thanks for the suggestions but its not the valves that are leaking. It's the bit the fill valve is fitted too, it is held in the main body of the mag by two pins. If you knock the 2 pins out, the base of the mag comes away and inside there is a rubber sealing 'washer'. The gas seems to be getting past this seal and then out through the space between the mag body and the mag base.

Do you think some sort of bathroom sealer might work?

I know you already said you treated the rubber seal with silicone grease, but I wonder how? Personally when I've had leaks in GBB mags, I remove the valve, spray in a healthy wad of silicone grease.....

...leave it for a couple of hours till it begins to 'gel', then bung back in the nozzle, gas it up and hey presto, fixed.

try soaking the washer in hot water, i did this to my leaking 1911 mag rubbers, it"plumps" them up.
