As Tyler said elsewhere, I'm tinkering with the idea of making a Lee Enfield out of my APS2. But I'm having trouble sourcing stock parts.
On several websites, I got the impression that the rear of the stock (ie the shoulder rest) is a seperate part of the gun, and not part of a one-piece design like the M1 stock. Can anyone confirm that?
Thanks for any help and advice

hope they can help you
You're right the butt is separate from the stock however I think it is possible to address that problem, (I hope so as I've already bought most of the parts for a No5 and a DeLisle), it should be possible to attach the butt to the stock and then add something like a suitable shaped piece of alumimium sheet to get the right look, that's the way I'm thinking of doing it.
Thanks guys. Now the interesting part is figuring out how to put it all together...

that should help u out buddy
Fantastic Chappell, thanks
Right, well it would not seem that there is no shortage of parts, I'll just have to collect them together.
As for assembling them, there's only one thing I'm wondering about. The top handguard and stock, are they dress-up parts that go around the outside of the APS2 outer barrel, or do I need to remove the APS2 inner barrel and somehow support it inside the Enfield wood kit?
i think you should be ok with that they are just added parts no reason to affect the working interiors.
In case anyone's interested, the lastest World Wide Arms catalogue has full sets of original military set No.4 woodwork for £49 plus P&P.
(despite the .com a UK based company)
If you leave the full length of the outer barrel on you'll find you'll have problems fitting the top handguard as you'll have to dremel away a lot of wood to make it fit which may leave the handguard very thin and flimsy.
Most of these conversions, (K98's, Mosin-Nagents etc), that I've seen cut the outer barrel just after the hopup unit and then use a tube that's the same size as the real steel barrel which reduces the amount of carving out you have to do to the front of the stock & handguard.
Have a look at the way Sgt.Heide did his K98 http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... c&start=30
i've done same on my kar98k conversion.
as said look on the above link, had to cut immediately before hop unit, dremmel a small section of the upper hand guard, used a bit of 15mm copper piping and well bobs your fathers brother.
good luck with the project, i feel immense satisfaction from mine , knowing its all my own handy work
Interesting idea, I'll have to come up with a replacement for my barrel spacers so that its supported inside the woodwork.

Simplest solution is to wrap electrical tape around the barrel in a couple of places until you build it up to the desired thickness.

So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
