i have reciently come across this garand kit for an m14. ive fitted mine to an agm m14. the kit is a basic wood and metal kit. the wood is a cheaper wood stained but looks ok to me and the metal work is abit crude and almost home made in places but it still looks good, this is after all a vintage rifle. the kit required a little playing with to fit with a wood file and some sand paper but nothing too serious, this could vary from kit to kit though. i havent completely finished off my conversion yet as i still need to replace the gearbox in my m14 as its broken but the guns looks nearly finished in the photo's apart from the metal clip on the top of the reciever. this conversion isnt one way and can be put back to an m14 if needed.
where did i get the kit from? from a mate who wont tell me but does interestingly enough have a couple more of these kits to sell off for £80 each. let me know if interested and i'll bring my nearly finished garand along to sevastopol to let anyone have a look. check out the photo's below. there is no mag conversion with the kit so you'll have to use an m14 mag or keep your eyes open for a garand airsoft mag.
Very interested! Is the front end actual metal?
yes it is metal.it looks like some sort of alloy similar to aluminium. on close inspection you can see where some of the casting marks have been filled off but you'd have to be pickey to be bothered about it. overall the gun feels alot chunkier than the m14, abit like lugging a tree trunk around but its not too heavey though, im only quite small and the gun is easy to handle, my agm mp44 was way too heavey for me all day long!
I imagine it's still quite a bit lighter than the real deal! It looks spot on to me. The only things that stand out are the bayonet lug looks a bit small and the front sling swivel too. but those are easy fixes.
dont know. ive never seen one in the flesh! a little fettling with and the fit will fit ok, me and a friend think they look good. i think the chap who is selling them off wanted to build up complete guns and sell them off for £500 a time but realized the overall quality meant he couldnt get that sort of money. a couple of people have seen mine and given it the thumbs up.
everything that comes in the kit is in picture 2. you only need to provide an m14, and not even a complete one at that! stock, flash hider and front sights not needed as all that stuff is in the kit.

i now have another 3 garand kits. they all have a crack around the hand grip area where the trigger pulls back to. mine was like this when i got it and it just needs the crack opening up a little with a knife and some wood glue putting in then it will set like rock. its a small price to pay for the kit although it might put some people off. please see picture.
gone further down the box of stuff and found some converted lowcaps for m14 to garand conversion, they are in the airsoft guns for sale section.
yes, one.
