My M1 stock is dead... Could repair but was wondering if anyone either knows if anyone does wood kits for M14 conversions anymore? Or if any are lying around......?

I think the original kit here is an AZR (?) and the internals are TM M14 whic apparently are good so would be nice to get them in something else. I do have a Shoot and Scoot M1 Garand where I think the hop has gone so would that be ok to swap internals? Not knowing what the donor gun is a copy of though?

As far as I know all the M14s (apart from G&G and you don't have one of those) are diect Marui clones so swapping the receiver, gearbox, barrel & front end in to the shoot and scoot stock another M14 stock should be fine. Buy a hop and a stock and you have two Garands. :)

Good find there! I was obviously typing the wrong things into google...... Only thing would be that very different wood colours..... But that's what sandpaper and stains are for. Only thing is there are the standard interwbs "bad" reviews the only one of concern i over the quality of the wood that's been used....... Would have to be a punt in the dark a bit...

Yes, buying a hop would make two garands....... No idea what one would be appropriate though....

Will have a little think on it, some of the plastic on the Shoot and Scoot is nicked and damaged from Giogio when I fell over....

Edit: Serious wood glue could repair, but the rear sling attachment seems weird and not sure if it would be easily replaced. It was held in by the buttplate screw........

I wrote one of those reviews on the wood M14 stocks. They are seriously poor, badly finished and the wood is very thin in places, also I see they are more expensive now. I dont know what the alternatives are but I'd never buy one of those again.

I think further words with Warren may be appropriate! May as well get the SandS back up and running too.

I'll clean up the broken bit and see how practical a woodglue repair will be...... Otherwise the whole wood kit has to be retired as the dimensions are different from anything else!!!!! I have all the original M14 bits just sadly they are all in that awful olive drab colour...... Wood effect paint may not really work possibly?

Cheers Ranj, good to know I can just put the TM into anything else! :good:

Thanks chaps!
