Thanks gents I am just not sure about it and don't want to cock it up. I think I would try and use an m249 gearbox instead of the ak though

Not sure why you would chop up a 249 to make a 34 ? All the previously mentioned designs have been based around an AK gearbox and receiver. The AK is fairly cheaply available, the 249 isn`t.
If you`re not feeling confident about it then keep it simple.
Here`s a very simple one I knocked up years ago. It`s still not painted so you can see the basic parts quite clearly....

I was thinking more of just using the m249 gearbox and then building around that . Also possibly a resin copy then making more for gearbox but still very unsure.

Sounds very complicated and messy.

Hi MM,

I may have something your interested in. I always fancied an MG34 myself and after seeing Riflemans and Pride of Englands posts sometime ago, I thought I'd have a go at making one myself. There were none available from any manufacturers. I downloaded the blueprints and set about it. It cost around £400 plus in materials and took me 3 months to make . It has been skirmished once and performed perfectly, bar the tip of the pot metal trigger snapped off. I bought a Guarder steel trigger but never fitted it. Have a read through the post and see what you think. I'm asking £495 for it, which I think is a fair price. I'm in Horsham so if your interested PM me, or anyone else if interested!

Regards Nick
