Going to be converting my AGM MP001 to a K98 and have the following parts already:
Reproduction K98 Walnut Stock with Upper Handguard
Front sight and base
Front barrel band
Front sight hood
Middle band
Rear Sight group set
Trigger guard
What other parts for an original k98 do you think I'm going to need? I obviously need something to cover the upper part of the mp001 trigger mechanism. Should I keep the existing barrel on my mp001? etc etc
Any help greatly appreciated.
A whole thread on the subject here. You need to cut down the MP001 outer barrel as it's way too thick. Your list of parts is almost complete, don't forget the baseplate for the triggerguard housing.
And good luck with the conversion!

Thanks for the reply Sgt. Heide. I've been looking through your thread for many many weeks with envious glee and excitement and have finally got round to getting nearly all the parts together. I decided to use a reproduction stock because as I'm going to need to do some adjustments to the wood work I just couldn't bear the thought of getting it wrong on an original ww2 k98 stock.
a few questions for you as well.........
1. Apart from the parts I have listed exactly what other parts would you suggest?
2. How did you change the bolt handle to the ball type?
3. Did you cut the plastic trigger guard off the mp001?
As far as actual K98 parts go, you're 99% there. You'll need some 18mm tube for the outer barrel, a few tools, some paint and a bit of patience as well!
For the bolt handle on mine, I used just milliput, shaped and then painted.
No need to cut the trigger guard from the MP001, it's held on by just 1 bolt and is easy to remove.
If you REALLY want to go to town, take a look at Boshmans' conversion, he has gone even further in terms of realism.

Thank you for your help. If I get stuck at any time then I'll get in contact.
