Hello people, I thought Id put a few pics and bits up on my K98 springer project :good:

donor gun is a cheap acm vsr-10 (will see how this project turns out and maybe swop it out for JG BAR 10)

K98 was a bone yard one from RSOV for around £50 - £60 (unfortunately it came with no bolt)

first job was to pull everything apart, then start fitting the receiver, hop, barrel etc into the K98

then started to cut and shape the trigger guard for a snug fit

took a fair bit of cutting and grinding for a nice fit, while being careful not to take too much off

next job was to open the stock a bit more for the hop up leaver etc

while this was going on I kept checking to make sure everything was straight and aligned properly

been working tonight on the hop adjustment leaver slot, will have some more pics up soon as things come along :good:

cheers :good:

decided to keep the receiver high on mine, its sits very similar to my dboys K98 gas version, that way the vsr cocking lever sits nicely against the stock :good:
my 1mm aluminium sheets are here know as well to pack out the receiver as well but that will probably be one of the last jobs to do once everything is sitting right and firing ok,
will then spray the metal work with flat black enamel and use wire wool to rub down the edges for a used look :good:

will probably use a lighter dye on the stock as well compared to my gas version :good:

I've managed to grind the rear sight base down with my trusty dremel (and taken a bit off my finger in the process  ) and it was a right bitch- still needs another 0.5mm ground off for it to fit perfectly. Have fitted the bolt handle,

just in the middle of mine too, trying to gring the sight down is the worst part still keeping at it. I would be interested in how you have attached it to the top of the barrel housing? Also I have seen different ways of attaching the Bolt. Are you using the DBOYS one? If so how is the best way to attch that to the cylinder action
Cheers
Gordon

Good work one and all.

As for attaching the rear sight to the barrel/receiver, First I glued it in place with epoxy, then I put a screw in for extra strength. Simple as that :D.

Screw it is for the bolt. Just a quick question where abouts are you putting your screw in the rear sight for extra hold?

Thanks for the info almost ground the rear sight down enough to fit so looking to fix soon
Cheers
for the help
Gordon
