Heh, I'd assume (and hope) that it wouldn't be possible to bump up the power beyond airsoft levels - else the gun would be something else entirely and couldn't be sold through existing channels to the airsofting community, let alone the danger of accidentally/deliberately bumping the power in a game. Beyond that I shudder to think what it would do to hops, seals & monkey metal airsoft guns are made of!
377fps+, legally speaking, is an air weapon anyway. You're tanaka is by definition an air rifle. Albeit a crap, low powered one(as air rifles go, anyway. A fine airsoft rifle - if not the most accurate). If you want to be humane, stick to the air rifle, seriously!

My armoury;
Tanaka Kar98(1942 woodwork and parts), M1 Garand AEG(1940's woodwork and metalwork), MG34, SVT40, Mosin Nagant M44, MP40, PPSH41, Luger and PPK.
Power variance, given that this is G&G we're talking about, would most likely be taken care of via a PCS powerbolt. They have made them for the Tanaka M24 and M700's for a while now, so they have considerable experience of doing it that way. Why would they try something different if they have already made something that they know works well?
