Making myself a no.4 in time for varsity, from an MP001 and repro wooden parts.

Progress so far,... its taken me ages to mill out the upper forearm to get the far mp001 barrel in there, but ive cut it down to just infront of the hop unit, so it fits better.

Need to sand down the lower forearm and figure out how to attach it to the main part of the mp001 stock

You can see the steel forward ironsight guard next to the marker pen, needs the holes drilling out of it.

Got a wood butt stock too, thats my next hurdle hehe

It's no shoot and scoot no.4, but i feel the need to make an effort to have a good looking brit impression, try not to do anything by half measure ;)-- attachment is not available --

lol... I can believe it... though they can't be as bad as polystyrene shavings... Sanding that stuff is just evil!

I think the biggest challenge is going to be getting the butt stock on, and getting the ironsights to line up with where the BB is going!

What repro wood are you using? Home-made or stripped from a display model?

I dont know, the ebay auction said it was off a real 1, but it looks like it has never been fitted to anything, everything looks new on it, no abraision marks on any of the metal work etc.

Put the front end on now, and the front iron sight, (taken off my M14)

You might be able to see where the lower forarm changes form just behind the swivel loop, theres a bit of a gap but I plan to fill it :)

Is there a huge amount of difference/difficulty in doing a Springfield compared to one of these?

Looks great by the way! Keep the pics coming, can't wait to see the finished article!
