Does anybody know how the hell to vent the gas from the PPS (and I would assume Tanaka) magazines? On a related note, if anyone knows what the sprung metal block at the back of the magazine does, I'd be grateful. :good:

You press the top of the bar at the back. You can see the valve if you look in the top of the back assembly where the hammer hits. The metal block at the back acts as a hammer to engage the valve. The pps mags can be stiff to vent if new.
It vents from the brass router with quite a bit of force!

Ah, that's the ticket. The spring has come out from under the bar, so I want to vent what gas remains while I'm fiddling about with it.

Cheers!

If you have lost the spring, then apparently the small springs from retractable biros are usable alternatives :good:

This was reported to me by my brother, but we've yet to find one that does!

Check with Gav (Dadio), he'll be able to recommend something.

Bear in mind that if you do glue them in place, they still have to be removed to strip the mag down if you need to. I had to strip one to oil a sticking valve bar and had to unglue the spring. Superglue is fine, I drilled a small recessed hole for the spring to sit into in The baseplate. Prob about 0.5mm deep, then Superglue them in. This stops them wanting to scoot out sideways.

they're another airsoft part that could've been a simple easy design but they handed the job to MacGyver's idiot cousin.
