hi
not sure what the problem could be but my pps k98 stopped working, it cocks fine but when fired no co2 comes out ive checked the screw inside the bolt that is tight and ok. it seems as if the hammer isnt striking the striker on the magzine hard enough to jet the co2
i dont have a manual so im stripping parts i know how to but im at a loss i dont want to buy another mag at £77 just to find its still not working
cheers sean
Is the small spring under the back of the mag present?
im not sure what spring you are refering to ?? i wish i had a manual ![]()
Not the best image but here's the diagram page from the manual
Just a minute and I'll grab a mag and take a better pic.
You can see the small spring under the back here. It lifts the back lever into position to strike the release valve.

im using co2 mags which are different to yours
Will it still vent some co2 when you press the release valve?
hi
yes it vents co2 but i have to put loads of pressure on it to push it in, ie hold mag on door frame and push very hard. which leads me to think hammer cant do it??
Yeah I can vent the green gas mags with a firm push it a thumb on the lever. I know the co2 mags came with an extra spring and some made mention of using that when the bulb pressure was too much to be overcome.
I've also spotted some sites recommend using a different hammer. http://begadishop.com/catalog/product_i ... 97024hrov4
Not sure though, I always thought the mags were interchangeable without mods. Must be a harder metal.
think its time to give up
the person who had it before me took the bolt apart im told there should be a spring with a ball bearing in there well not any more looks like he lost that. any idea where it went what its for and size
thanks
Those stop the bolt handle from moving up after you've cocked it and put the handle back down ready to fire. Other than making the bolt loose they shouldn't really affect the ability to fire.
I had problems with the striking power of my bolt and it was down to a loose screw in the rear of the bolt. I threadlocked it and it's been fine ever since.
Give me a minute and I'll see if I can disassemble my bolt and send you a pic.

Here's the ball bearing and the spring is still set in the hole. It looks to be about 3.5mm, I don't have my calipers handy to be more accurate. A pen spring would do and bearings are really cheap on eBay.

And here's the part that was the culprit. This was just constantly working loose so needed threadlocked in place. As it was loosening you could see the shots getting shorter and shorter range.
The above is exactly what I'd expect to be the problem.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.

hi
no this is not the problem srew is in nice and tight still wont fire ![]()
thanks for refence pictures
cheers sean
It could be either the hammer has worn down and needs replacing with the steel one or the striker spring might need switching to the stronger one you get with the co2 mags -

hi
the previous owner changed the spring when he got the co2 mag. i was thinking hammer is it hard to change ??
cheers sean
I don't think so. It's just two parts inside the body. The new hammer might even be a more optimal shape to strike the release on the co2 mags too.

Yeah just remove the trigger guard then pull the action out. Undo these two screws in front of the trigger and you should be able to remove the hammer.

crap i took it apart now in not sure how it goes back together
the hammer look ok ?? but different to the pic ?
First remove the bracket at the front then knock out the pin here and remove the trigger. Make sure the two return springs stay in place.

You'll then have the parts in this position -

Lift the small spring and you can then remove the hammer. It should look like this for green gas use.
