Wanting to pick your brains, for the games that allow a "sniper" I'd like to put a dedicated German loadout together - the uniform and kit is the easy bit but what I need help with is what gun? I'm thinking either gas K98 (had a vsr one but not for me) or an aeg M14/Gewehr 43 conversion (locked to single shot and using small mags
I'm edging towards the the Gewehr myself simply because I like the idea being able to send a second shot pretty quick compared to a bolt action but a scoped k98 is a classic... I'm not sure where to even start

For a marksman type role, you'd be far better off with a K98, particularly if thinking of going over 350 fps. Many sites don't even allow semi auto weapons over 350.
I believe the pps K98 has one of those adjustable nozzle things so you can run it at 350 or 500. If you are worried about putting multiple rounds down range fast, that isn't really a marksman approach.
I use my G43 as a poor man's AEG, for games which turn out a bit more shooty than expected.

Yep the PPS K98 is adjustable- anywhere from 250-600fps simply by turning a screw in the bolt. Better to have that flexibility than be stuck with a rifle firing at a set velocity, especially as very few games have sniper roles.
Just been reading up on the PPS K98 looks like thats the way to go

In theory yes, but it's not as easy as just turning a key - you need to disassemble the bolt & then adjust the valve with a screwdriver.
Yeah it's just as easy to put a higher power spring in a vsr or a more powerful mag in a G&G K98

what it does do is allow you to not be at the mercy of the temperature with a gas rifle ,i.e. not being under-power in cold weather and over powered in hot weather , i'd like to believe that in the ww2 bit of airsoft we don't cheat , also if you had the win at all costs including cheating mentality then you'd be playing with a hot aeg not a bolty in the first place .

I would actively encourage dousing in petrol and setting on fire anyone caught tampering with a gun post Chrono. Absolute epitome of arseholery with little to no regard for the personal safety and well being of others. Spiteful, for want of a better word.
The PPS K98 is a fab bit of kit, though.
Thought id bring this back to life now ive ordered one, what would you recommend the gas or Co2 mags? im leaning towards the Co2 ones myself but want peoples opinions
