Thinking of doing this for a long time and I want to know how hard or easy it is to build. Also what k98 base should I use as well as a vsr variant base?
Thanks Niall

The topic above is indeed very handy. I inherited a half done one which I finished off (TM VSR in a wood stocked D-Boys shell).
As with all these things, how hard it is depends how fussy you are. I never swapped the bolt and I bodged the sight from a plastic one off an old springer Mauser pistol. However it looks sufficiently like a K98 from more than three feet away that I've used it at re-enactment events .
I did spend a fair amount of time on the woodwork though (sanding, staining, oiling).
I wouldn't use a real stock, a D-Boys one is much easier to work with (softer wood and better dimensions to get the works into). The biggest problem with the DIY guns I find is the feed, so be as precise as you can lining up the magazine well with the barrel/feed. It is very satisfying to do it yourself rather than buy one though, particularly when you are as cack-handed as me with Airsoft guns.
Cheers
