Being the new owner of a (kind of) shiny new S&S No4, I'm in the market for some suitable ammo for it.
I've seen .43 and .28 mentioned so far.
Would these be suitable?

Do you want ammo for general skirmish use, or are you planning on trying sniping?
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
A bit of both, really, but mostly Sniping.
Then definitely Maruzen Super Grand masters (SGM's). The best consistency shot to shot I've come across for bolt actions and by far the best for a sniper role. Expensive, mind.

Madbull also do "match grade" ammo in similar weights but I've not tried the heavier ones. They are cheaper than the SGM's and you get more rounds for your money. Might be worth a punt at the price, although I doubt they'll be as consistent as the SGM's.
If you plan on any kind of "sniping", you're far better off sticking with one brand, for hop setting, scope zeroing and for actual skirmishing.

And remember, if you're serious about being a marksman or sniper, you need to use only the best and more importantly clean ammo in your gun (see I listened at training pete hehe
