Hello ladies and gentlemen, sorry to bother you all at the weekend, but I have a bit of a problem.
I've recently purchased a brand new Sten Mk.II online and it's just arrived, however I am having trouble with the magazine well. When I attempt to twist it into the firing position, it refuses to move at all. Either it's very stiff or there is something incredibly wrong with it since when I used Gunman's Stens at The Gothic Line in 2012, they were as smooth as gliding on roller skates.
Many thanks for reading.
Tommy.

Fixed, I dismantled it and found two problems.
1. Two BBs were magically inside, rattling around with the internals.
2. The mag well's internals were wrong, meaning that if I attempted to put a magazine inside, it wouldn't feed... At all.
After correcting these and putting the poor thing back together, it's now perfectly fine, as it should be.

This happens very occasionally with my Sten. When removing a magazine at a certain angle, some of the BBs 'jump' into the internals of the gun and rattle about until I lose patience and have to take it apart and shake them loose, like stones from an old boot and probably just as annoying.
Just in case you find yourself with a maraca at the end of a skirmish.

You shouldn't remove the 2 loose bb's! They are the real secret of the Sten's awesome accuracy and range. By rattling around they absorb the vibration as the gun shoots and the rattling sound then disturbs the air currents between the barrel and the target ensuring that the bb will always hit. Or maybe I'm just bored and making this up.
