Am in the process of building an Enfield 4 (T) almost finished but wondered what to use for the scope. Was going to use an old D-boys scope with material covering it- but it now seems such a shame having put in a lot of time and energy building a reasonable rifle! So what would anyone recommend? Also would there be any interest in me posting pictures of the rifle build?

I just searched for ages, online and on ebay through hundreds and hundreds of scopes for air rifles (as opposed to airsoft rifles) until i found something vaguely close. my intnetion was to then make a custom mount and possible enclose the modern looking bits in a custom housing.

And yes, i'd love to see any new Enfield projects!

heh... my suggestion is... don't bother. But then I don't like scopes. ;)

I think you'll find most period style scopes totally useless for airsofting. They have a very narrow field of view and very small lenses.

A No. 4 (T) without one would be a bit silly though!

As a suitable cross between the real deal and a look alike that works, how about a simmons whitetail classic

http://www.best4optics.co.uk/acatalog/W ... assic.html

I think it's the third one down. I just used that as a reference for a pic, second hand these should go for about £60, I dont think we've got any at the range but I'll check when my car is working again.

Fred you're in luck mate, there IS a second hand Simmons Whitetail classic the same as that one that is third down on that link. I've got to confirm the price but as I work there it should be no problem to bring it along for you to look at on Sunday. No obligation of course. As it goes I know the seller and she is one of the top lady HFT shooters in the country.
