I'm in the process of building some custom aeg's and because the existing triggers won't line up I'm planning to use a 'push to make' switch to be pressed by the trigger, the only thing is I'm not sure what voltage/amperage rating I need to get.
Any help would be apperciated, I'll probably be getting one from Maplins so if anyone has used one from there could you please let me know the part number.
If you fit MOSFET units, the trigger switch ratings don't matter much.
BTW, Maplin won't have the MOSFETs you'd need - I've already looked for my own use.
Seconded on the MOSFET. You only need a switch capable of handling the low level of power that flows to the Gate pin on the MOSFET, as the high current swtiching is done by the MOSFET itself.

Extreme-fire use the IRF1404 in their MOSFET switches.
Select-fire and burst modes would need a sensor so the microcontroller can count shots.
