I'm thinking about packing out the sides of my thompson receiver to make it more like the '28 version, maybe a few thick pieces of ally on either side, take off the A1 rear sight and put the flip-up style 1 on. Then maybe take the cocking handle plate,.. and add a bit to it which extends over the top of the motor casing, that way the spring will bring the cocking handle back into place when you pull it.

Is your Thompson the Chinese 1, I have a marui 1 :?

Okay... I've been looking for the plastic cyma drum mags for a while. I finally got one delivered 2nd hand from a re-enactor in germany!

So, now I need to do the conversion. Some close up pics would be nice dieselmonkey, if you can manage them?

BTW, Guys the 1928 receiver is also a LOT wider than the M1A1 receiver.

Yep, I have made allowances for this, got 2 pods to put on the outside of the upper receiver, also putting the cocking hand in a slit on the top of the gun, rather than on the side.

Just need to get hold of a Layman sight now :)

No problem, i'll get on it later when i'm at home.

and no Porta, they've got 190 round hicaps inside, with a bit of extra space for the loading hatch, so i'd say around 300-350 tops, and certainly less than the standard 420 round TM hicap!

Anyway, it's fiddly to wind-on, so you'll probably be faster reloading with your 6 MP40 locaps!

I was thinking if u cut a pillbox hole into the lower half of the mag, in theory you could let the bbs into the actual drum. Pad it out with something soft so it didnt rattle that much.

Found out that Airsplat in the US do the Cyma drum mag, and they ship internationally. I`m just wondering if there is much difference in diameter between the tommy drum and the one on the PPSH41?

Thats where DM and I have got our drum mags from! :) Mine should be here tomorrow or Thursday

Theyre almost exactly the width of the thompson stick magazines, if not a little wider
