Sorry, should've said that it's for the cyma.

The Cyma is a clone of the TM gun.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

What he said.
I think the only differences are the barrel strengthening on the Cyma, and the barrel fixing screws are a different length (shorter on the Cyma, IIRC).

Plus, my Cyma Thompson didn't come with any instructions!

Yep. It's a version 6 gearbox, just like the TM. Like I said, it's a clone.

I used TM-based instructions (crappy youtube videos) to dismantle mine to put in a new 1J spring and metal bushings. First time ever I'd opened up an AEG, let alone the gearbox. It's a VERY easy job.

First one. The other 2 are linked from there.

The thompson's V6 gearbox is a lovely work of art. It's a modified version of the V3 basis. The hardest part of stipping a Thompson, is getting the gearbox out

Just as a tip, the selector knobs need ot be removed. They undo via loosening grub screw in either of their sides, which then allows them to be pulled off - but watch out! the knobs themselves contain tiny little plastic plungers and springs which need to be looked for and looked after before they spring out of the knob and lost forever!

(The youtube video here is very clear and helpful (ignore the 'bolt mod' bit, it has a good takedown in it, though); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihk3BHXu4S4 but does not show the care needed when removing the knobs as not to loose the plungers.)

Moved here as more relevant to weapons only not general airsoft.
