hello.

My acm thompson has been playing up latley, I got it second hand.

so the battery is not new.

I charged the battery for 14 hours, (required time for my battery size and charger output :|)

and within about 5min on full auto it cuts out, and starts making just a click noise.

is this just a case of I need a brand new battery?

or could it be dodgey wiring or gearbox, it has systema wireing and bushings I think and a TM version gearbox installed (upgraded obv)

Any help would do cheers, as am not very good with the techno side of airsoft :D

Start the easy way - check with a mate's battery. (It would be a really good idea to have a spare yourself anyway.)

Hello friend.

A very difficult question to answer as there are so many problems that could give the symptoms you describe.
First off, The battery and charger that are supplied with the Chinese aeg`s are known to be of doubtfull quality. So if either or both are as supplied you must replace them ,or at least borrow a known good battery and try that first.
Other likely causes are poor electrical connections/contacts. gearbox problems.motor problems.
So, start with a known good fully charged battery then go from there.
Hope this helps,
flatrajectory

Sounds like a battery problem.

Is the battery you're using the "standard" chinese one which comes with the gun? (They are black). If so, that's your main problem. The batteries supplied with the China guns are shite, as already posted.

This battery http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/bo ... 0sc-h.html should give you enough juice for a days' play. Don't forget to order it with a "mini" tamiya connector (or buy an adaptor lead). Obviously, how long it lasts depends on how many rounds you're firing and how heavily upgraded the gearbox is and it's always worth having a couple of batteries, rather than relying on just one.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
