Just need a bit of advice in parts for a TM Thompson.
I have managed to get a TM Thompson that needs a fair bit of work doing to it and would like to know if it can use standard parts for the follwoing or whether they have to be version 6 specific?
1) Piston and head
2) Spring guide
All help appreciated.
piston head ,piston and sping guide from a v 2 box will fit perfectly .i would recomend a bearing spring guide and silent type piston head, and a piston with at least the last three teeth in metal and if its an old gun new bearings would be a good idear while you have the box appart.the make of the parts is up to you but you get what you pay for .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.

if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Cheers mate much appreciated
+1 on the bearings. I had to downgrade my new Cyma M1A1 when I bought it. While I had the box apart, I replaced the plastic bearings with metal.
BTW, why the "silent-type piston head"? Surely the sound is part of the gun's personality...
the silent piston heads do a number of other benificial things.
1 noise reduction
2 reduce impact with cylinder head(silent heads have dense foam padat front) reducing likleyhood of failure of front of gearbox(important on guns runing at 300+fps)
3 inproves alignment of gear teeth on piston and sector gear (ever noticed that the second and third tooth on piston get their tops sliced off) improving piston life.
