IIRC, the real-steel BAR had no semi-auto mode, just 2 different rates of full-auto. If the airsoft BAR is true to real-steel, that could be one reason for the unique mech box, and it'd have no semi mode to jam it in.

A semi-locked MOSFET controller might be the way to go, assuming that meets the legal requirements.

Yeah, if they could do 2 modes of full auto fire at the different RPMs that would be great!

There is no semi-auto option on a VFC BAR if my memory is working right - it's a couple of years since I last took one apart though. No semi-auto latch, no selector plate. Its simply a case of battery => switch => motor.

Semi auto could feasibly be done with one of the after-market MOSFET fire control systems, but i'm not sure i'd like to try and get something like that through Customs.

Having had one, its safe and 2 points of full auto, the ROF on the 2 full auto positions is unchanged

IIRC, the real-steel BAR had no semi-auto mode, just 2 different rates of full-auto.

It depends on the version: The M1918A2 had two rates of FA fire, but all previous versions had one rate of FA fire and the option to fire SA.

if you read what he's put it says he needs semi-auto because full auto is illegal in new zealand, but the BAR's you pictured is the A2, which had fast auto and slow auto, no semi auto.

and my bar has 2 auto settings (which both have the same ROF, so doesnt make a change) and a safety switch.

Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.

That was my point. There is no semi mode to "jam" it in. It'd have to be done by a semi-locked MOSFET controller.
