I've noticed in some photos of the early Walther made G41 that the stock (and complete front end for that matter) is essentially the same as a K98 - has anyone converted a Dboys using a M14 (or other) mechanism - as I'm thinking of earmarking it as a potential project???
Grateful for any advice!

right, if thats the one it looks as if your giong to need to do a bit of stock remodeling, flashhider ect is different and i think the mag is too far forward. its possible though, but i think shall need a bit of work,

cheers, Tom.

Go for it! If you search the forum, you'll find a couple of people are trying to make G43s - it's tricky though.

And don't use the Dboys as a donor gun - it's just not good enough.

Yes see what you mean re the mag position, stock not too much of a problem though - flash hider should be straightforward using brass tube too. Think the M14 mech would work if its possible to turn the mag round or make a revised feed arrangement. One for the drawing board for now methinks - cheers Tom.

Thanks for the encouragement, the Dboys idea was purely for the wooden stock and outer barrel/sights etc, certainly wouldn't want to sacrifice a nice gun (ie my Tanaka K98) for such parts, though real deal stock might be another way forward - the real challenge being what mechanism to use and how. As I have an M14 I can at least set about some measuring and see what can or cannot be done. I'm no stranger to cutting and modifying airsoft stuff, but don't want to start a mission impossible! :?

Ah, I see - no, you're absolutely correct not to butcher your Tanaka! Sorry, I misunderstood - yes, the Dboys woodwork would be useful, but not the internals. If you could get an M14 internals into that, then that would be ideal, firing on single shot.

saying that, with the single shot, you could use m14 mid caps, theyre easy enough to take out the internals, do a bit of fiddling and turn the mag chamber around so its in the correct position but still feeds in the same place. plsu the m14 is nearly the same length so good inner barrel ect. could be a VERY good idea :good:
