I've had a little look around and couldn't find and answer so I'll ask

Is there anyway to cover up the open parts of the ASG MP40 or Sten?? Just that the manuals not to use in rain, I can see why they say it but I don't want to have to stop mid game coz it's started to rain

Thanks

JD

Well, lots of people had them at "Churchill's Revenge" a few years ago, when it absolutely TIPPED it down and, noone's MP40 went down then, nor at the more recent "Devil's Hill", where it absolutely wanked it down.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

No AEG, WW2 or modern, is waterproof and in theory shouldn't be mixed with water (risk of shorting). However, I've played in heavy rain, snow, hail and everything in between, over a number of years and have never had a single issue.

I wouldn't go swimming with one, but I can't see the need to take precautions about rain.

If the hop gets wet it becomes practically useless in terms of accuracy but never heard of any gun breaking or blowing up in the rain

I dropped my MP40 in a fucking great puddle at Churchill's, submerging it!

I just gave it a shake, ran a rag down the barrel with the pull through and it was fine. Still working now, with no problems.

the only possible exception to what has been said above is if you have a mosfeted gun with lipo batteries in whitch case too wet could mean constant fire despite trigger position, but to the best of my knowledge neither the sten or mp40 have that set-up.ive only seen one gun in 12 years fail due to getting wet, just keep the muzle pointing down in the rain to maintain accuracy.

It's not a systema, you don't have to check the weather forecast before taking it out ;)

In all seriousness, keep it muzzle down and you'll never have an issue in the rain if you keep your beebs dry.

Keep the bolt handle forward as well - that'll close most of the holes rain can get into.
