Been meaning to try this for a while, the hop on these is the oddest I ever saw, it relies on pushing the bb up against the top of the barrel when fired, not against a rubber nub like I expected. The result is very poor imo, so to the end of improving it, I came up with this.
Firstly, remove the barrel from the gun. Next, remove the aluminium sleeve. Cut the very end off a standard aeg hop rubber, just the bit that is the seal and narrower than the rest. Slide it over the barrel where the sleeve was removed and mark on the barrel where the nub should go. Remove the rubber and cut the window in the barrel for the nub.

Then, refit the rubber and the original barrel seal.

Now, mark up on the plastic barrel support where the hop nub window is and drill and tap an m3 hole and re insert barrel and both rubbers carefully and, tighten the original grub screw to hold it together. Fit a very short m3 grub screw into the new hole on top.

Make sure that the grub screw does not protrude upward or it will foul the outer frame.
Reassemble, you will find that the gun needs to be stripped as normal for adjustment but now the grub screw is on top .

m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all

Weird. My old WE used to shoot accurately out to 40 metres with green gas on a warm day. Never had any accuracy issues with it at all.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

A mate of mine had the navy 8" one, it was great, cracking range and accuracy. EVERY other one I've encountered was so poor you'd be better throwing the bb's at the target! Guess you got luck dude.

only problem with mine is you get around 3-4 shots off then it vents the rest of the gas?

I'm not an expert by any means- in fact I'm rather new to this, but could it be low magazine gas pressure? From my understanding when the pressure available drops below that to properly operate the mechanism it vents- maybe check the gas source or the valves?
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong :)
Edit: Also I meant to say thanks for the guide, I will be trying this mod on mine now that it is no longer a comedy pistol (the barrel used to fly of with a Piiiiing after two shots, I was actually quite tempted to keep it like it!)
