easy question, since i want to do one of three loadouts
1 some form of camo wearing german
2 french resitance
3 Good old tommy from north africa or somthing i could modify a bit to be Korea or Maylayan emergancy.

forgive my noobish descriptions and by camo for the german i mean the flecktarn looking stuff.
i was looking for an AEG im at the moment thinking of either an Sten or Mp40 but i do have limited funds since im still at school
Thanks
Joe

I'd recommend the MP40. They are rugged and good value for money, and can be used as "captured" if you're playing Allied.

Yeah MP40 is a good option, reasonably cheap and lots of people have them :good:

Just to point out the blindingly obvious that Joe isn't able to buy any sort of airsoft gun himself, being under the age of 18.

Not that obvious, lots of people in their final year at school here are 18, plus he didn't fill in location on his profile so I'm not too clued up about school ages elsewhere.
But I admit you're probably right. :good:

Still hopefully some of our defence holding members can grab a bargain from one of the links !

yeah sorry should have put that in the first post it would be my dad buying it since he has UKARA and im 15, just thinking what would have happened to "captured" Mp40s after the war as one of the reasons i was looking at a sten was that i could do a korea or early 50's british army loadout and if i got the slinced model it would also go with my Nam Aussie SAS kit. but were they captured and kept in the armouries seeing as they took the same rounds as the sten?

A lot of them ended up in russian armories and were used by the Viet Cong.

Nice one young man, that's cleared that up. Personally I'd advocate an M14, great for a looks-like wood-stocked WW2 bolt action/semi auto, perfect for Vietnam and were even used in recent times by USMC sharpshooters. Sixty year period of airsofting - just as useful at open days too! (Oh, and the MP40 is a handy bit of kit too - I'm on my second now. )

Gunner is ok but his communication is a bit naff if something goes wrong.
The only gun off the shelf which may fit all your original 3 impressions is the Sten I think. There are pics around of German paras using them, the resistance and Tommy used them obviously, and it would also fit your post war impressions to some extent. :good:

As in http://www.gunnerairsoft.com , in Hong Kong? If so, i've dealt with them repeatedly with no problems whatsoever.

For specific WW2 then the MP40 is a reasonable choice, but I'd second the recommendation for an M14 as they span such a long time period and are very easy to convert into any number of lookalikes by just converting the top handguard. With a bipod it can even double up as a BAR.

You could always pretend it was a Lee Enfield jungle carbine (the special 'long' version!).

Cheers
Martin
