I now have a total of 3 ww2 airsoft guns. I want to build my collection up to about 5 by the end of the year. Remember that I don't have like 500 quid to spend but I do live in Hong Kong so things will be slightly cheaper. Just to let you know, I don't have any kits yet so I wouldn't worry about where it is from as I will get the gear when I move back to the UK. Below is my expectations for the guns you pick:

1) Must be durable
2) Mustn't be overpriced (if so must have warranty)
3) Must look good and realistic
4) Must be accurate

If there is a gun that you highly recommend. Leave a reply :)

GUNS: (ww2)
AGM sten mkII
Classic Army Colt 1911A1 GBB pistol
ARES PPSh-41
Deact Mosin M38

I'll throw in my recommendation for the CYMA M1A1 Thompson. I know everyone has one, but it's a good, solid, reliable gun with a surprisingly long effective range, and it's pretty ergonomic too.

Only other period gun I own is the AGM Sten Mk.II which I also enjoy, but doesn't perform nearly on the level of the Thompson.

Edit: Correction, at one time I owned the AGM MP-40, and only fielded it once before selling it. Similar performance to the Sten but with an adjustable hopup. Truly though, I found both of them completely skirmishable, I just didn't like the looks of the MP-40 (as well as its wobbly frame etc) and wanted a Sten instead.

Thanks, I was thinking of the M1A1 a while back. Might give it a go as it is cheap. I think I will get the Hexagon PPSh at some point also. The ares isn't as reliable and uses some proprietary parts. I already have the sten and love it. Great range and accuracy. Thanks for the recommendation. I now know that the MP40 isn't a gr8 choice. Cheers :happyswing:

Being in Hong Kong, he could get a real wood and full metal King Arms M1A1 relatively cheaply.

Cyma Thompson big yes looks quite good fires great & can be cheap :good:
Out the box better than a TM but does not have the looks of the metal finish, also has better gearsets than a TM.

CYMA M1A1 definitely all i can do is second what has already been said, its got a hell of a range on it, accuracy. In my opinion and i know a lot will disagree, but i believe its better than the tm. My mate has one and yes don't get me wrong its a very good gun, i just feel there's something extra with the CYMA.

The one thing that i did change was the stock it was quite orange the wood, and as i dd not have the and still don't have the funds to bu a wood stock; i aged the existing stock. It takes around half really and is worth it if you are going to be aging the gun its self.

Simply remove the wood sand it down, just to give paint purchase, take a black acrylic paint and smear it on quite thick, almost straight away rub the paint off, but not completely with a piece of kitchen paper, repeat this process until satisfied. Once that is done give the stock a good few coats of matt sealant.

if you want pictures and can try and get some up later :good:

Would that technique work on real wood?

Also, I WOULDN'T consider the MP-40 a bad option! Plenty of people have done some upgrades and made them into fantastic shooters.
