I take it German then. Personally I love my MP40 but have just aquired a MP44, but this does limit you to the time line.

depends on how anal everyone is with it, it wouldnt bother me if it was used in a game set a year before it was "mass produced"

there all great AEG's after a bit of work, i think a MP 40 and a 44 were on sale on the forum at the moment could be a good bet to start there! As it would give a fellow member to be able to get hold of more gear! :happyclap: :happydance:

Hi guys

I already have the mp40 but would like another

Yes, indeed, German all the way :giggle:

I was asking more from a mechanical/reliability/playability point of view, does anyone have any preferences or know of any glitches, hitches or 'must fix before use' issues with any of the guns? :happyswing:

if you'r looking to get a sten then act fast ,there are a few on the market at the moment but no word on agm itself being resurected ,i asuspect the current stock is the last you'l see of them.the ppsh is beutifull but the mp44 will have better performance potential.
so a sten if you ever want one ,the ppsh for beuty or the mp44 for performance.

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

The HP PPSH I have is my favourite ever AEG.

I also have an AGM MP44, MP40, CYMA M1A1 and have owned a CYMA M14, and the PPSH outranges all of those except perhaps the M1A1. It can easily shoot 70 metres with a blue hop rubber and h nub installed.

They are expensive but it is rock solid and it feels very, very substantial as it is constructed from wood and steel. The steel is nicely blued like the real steel.

AGM MP40 - AGM STG44 - CYMA Thompson M1A1 - WE P08 4 inch - Marushin M1 Carbine GBB - AGM Sten MkII

HP PPSh 41, I love mine. If I had to get rid of all my guns and keep one, this would be the one. It has the advantage of being easy to fire prone as well.

My ares ppsh is a fantastic gun, but without a doubt the Tanaka k98 is the best gun that I own.

Tell you what, I wouldn't sit on it though.

Mine now has damage x2...

#1 crack in the wood stock where the handgrip is (i've glued this up with "no more nails" and it seems okay, but I won't be overly stressing it again!)
#2 magazine casing bent slightly. This is directly because of sitting on it. It's only thin metal.

Interestingly when talking to Adrian of the 2nd guards re-enactment group, real ppsh41s show exactly the same damage in exactly the same locations.

He even showed me a crack in the stock of his own real ppsh which is identical to the one in mine!

Am I the only one who thinks that Russian guns are pig ugly? PPSH, Mosin, Tokarev. They all look like they were designed by the the blind.

Plus I keep thinking of a Wehrmacht soldier's opinion of the PPSH as "just the sort of weapon you'd give to some dumb Ivan who needs to be taught how to use a spoon" :giggle:

You forgot the DP 28, also ugly with a magazine shaped like a 78 record (kids ask your grandparents). Although the mag was useful in hand to hand combat.

Well personally I think the MP44 looks like a complete abortion, so it's all personal taste really. :P

I agree. A very ugly gun that seems to be the basis for the AK47, which I actually quite like aesthetically.

(leaves forum to avoid gun bores blabbering on about parabellum, gas-operated mechanisms and other guff)
