Now I know everyone poo-poohed me when I last posted something like this but here's more news from the Horses Mouth and you can ask RichardShultze coz he was at F***ball at the weekend as well...
A fully paid up site member had his flat raided - proper, "6am-20-armed-coppers-kick-the-door-in" raid
Guns confiscated and cuffed n stuffed into the van whilst shouting about being an Airsofter
The Armed Response coppers knew this and soon ot his member ID and called the site owner, checked him on UKARA etc. and he was released.
BUT all his guns were kept for testing and the unlucky airsofter was told that he could only have them back if they were under 330fps because (and I quote the site owner who quoted the coppers) "shooting anyone with a airweapon over 400fps is assault and other players cannot agree to be assaulted".
Don't shoot the messenger - just passing on what I was told on site.

Yeah, thats Ken again. Has a BIG bee in his bonnet about FPS limits. I wouldnt be at all surprised if he made the whole thing up...
And i do NOT believe his "quote" for one second.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
LOL, someone just shot the messenger!
We really need to find this mystery airsofter....

So, did you hear this from the airsofter in question, then?

HS - that WAS a classic line. I think Blue was trying to be diplomatic - naming no names etc - but this clearly failed.
As you know, I've spoken about this on another thread and I have to say, I'm reluctant to believe wholeheartedly what we were told. However, IF it is a case of scaremongering, Chinese whispers, unsubstantiated rumour or whatever, then that in itself is a little worrying - to think that members of our own community could allow themselves to disseminate such untruths - if indeed that is what they are - I'm trying to be diplomatic here - ![]()
Lets just say that Ken @ Fireball is well known for such announcements. Perhaps "infamous" would be a better term.
Then again, not as though I can't name at least half a dozen site operators that have given out highly erroneous information over the years....

Ken's really a lovely guy but I have seen and heard one or two howlers in the past and he'd be the first to admit it.

no relevance but you'll have to stop posting soon HS you're at 1942 ![]()

I've been told the same thing by the guys at Firefight in London so maybe they're on the same grapevine as Ken
The 'mystery airsofter' in question is a local student. I was chatting to one of the marshalls who gave me the background info. Apparently he lives n one of those posh new Halls Of Residence and they had engineers checking all the rooms for something. One of them saw the guns under the bed and flapped ![]()

Ah now a uni student in halls
explains the story so much better
can see now how quickly it was embelished ![]()

That explains it. The VAST majority of Halls do not allow replicas of any kind of gun to be kept there.

I could always check with my mate who works for the Derbyshire Constabulary and could find out. Any idea which force would have done the deed?
[PS HS, CLASSIC line mate

No longer involved in airsoft.
I'd assume the unlucky fella got nicked by West Mids.

Now, excuse me for saying this, but was said 'mystery airsofter' a complete retard or what?
If the halls policy is 'no airsoft guns' then either follow it to the letter, or at least be very careful how you store stuff (personally, in a zipped gunbag stored in the back of a wardrobe, and only then taken out when you need them).
Having them in any way visible, even if they're stashed under the bed, is a very bad and quite stupid thing and given the drive by the Government to stamp out gun crime, I'm honestly not surprised by the response.
I guess common sense really isn't that common any more.
