I found some old news from 2011 about a Bren gun in the works from zeta labs and haven't been able to find anything new. Did zeta labs ever move on with this projext or was it cancelled?

Ralph

Unfortunately zeta labs folded alongside airsoft panda quite some time ago, taking a lot of preorders for their AS val (which would have been the first released) with them!

There is an A&K ZB26 available though which with some work could be made to look a little more bren like :good:

That's such a shame. There appears to be a lot of Zb26's about, I wish they'd just make a Bren. Ah well.

I found a supplier in America that sells a Bren barrel and stock. Should be pretty straightforward to swap them over.

I think you'll find an American supplier won't be able to sell you these items due to strict US laws on shipping machine gun parts internationally, and if they did you'd be breaking British law by importing the barrel, this is a quote taken from this website https://www.gov.uk/import-controls-on-offensive-weapons ;

"Importing component firearms parts is prohibited unless you have a licence for the firearm that the parts are intended for. This is because individual firearms parts can be used for reasons other than legitimate repairs - eg to reactivate firearms that have previously been modified to stop them from firing."

Your best bet would be to get whatever parts are legally available in the UK, as for the barrel, try contacting Warren at ShootNScoot who might be able to supply you with a replica barrel as he makes and sells airsoft Brens.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll email Warren and see what he's got.

Aren't BREN barrels FAC required parts?!

De-act' BRENS have to have them welded to the gun itself so they're not removable. Don't think you can buy a de-act' BREN barrel with cirtificate on it's own?

I haven't got my hands on a Zb26 yet but I can see 3 options really; use the resin barrel from shoot and scoot, build one from scratch or cut down the original barrel.

Or borrow a Bren for a bit during a game and realise that they are very heavy and that a Sten is much more practical :)

That is an option!

But, but... It's a Bren! It'll be like a workout lugging that thing around for a day. The Mrs says I could do with getting in shape a bit more [emoji1]

I've seen gunfire.pl sell a Zb26 for £300! Looks like that's the ticket though I hope my mvt membership will be enough for customs to let it through.

When I suggested ShootNScoot I wasn't thinking of the resin barrels which are really meant as a 'pouch' filler I was thinking about the aluminium barrels he makes and fits to the airsoft Brens he makes, if you gave him a call he might sell you just the barrel, worth a call.

Have you done a game in full kit yet? I recommend doing that 1st and then deciding whether you want a big heavy gun to carry. It would be nice to have more Brens at games to counter all the German heavy weapons but don't go over the top on weight to start with. A useful tip I have seen people do with a Bren, is to keep lending it to people so you don't have to carry it yourself :)
Remember that although there are a lot of German machineguns about, the Germans tend to be defending so don't have to carry them as far.
