will we be able to see the tower?
Yes you can mate..and after a few it'll look straight.

Nice! I've got a pair of wooden pigeon hole/shelving units - I'll put one on my table as an organiser for bits and bobs so there will be a spare for paperwork etc. elsewhere.
Just picked up a nice six draw wooded file box..

Having never done this before, what sort of questions do MoP throw at you when you are doing this stuff?
They generally talk about the war in general Martin nothing to in depth..and a lot of..i dint no the SS were in Africa.

All sorts. Just speak German the whole time and they won't bother you.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Or..just say.. I'm sure my CO would love to answer all your questions i'll just fetch him.

That one is quite handy to use !!!
I was going to say that I'll only talk to pretty ladies or vets.
Actually women of all ages are interesting to talk to - they are much more interested in life in the day than all the boring blokes who either just talk about guns or try to catch you out with their superior knowledge
.
Kids can be fun, grossing them out is my speciality (that came out a bit wrong - all good clean fun, honest) - and they have been dragged around a boring show by dad so its only fair they are entertained.
Yeah, let's work on some little sketches.
1. CO is served his soup, whereupon he spits it out, roaring with anger. The cook is dragged up before him by the FG, and then summarily executed.
How's that?

Yes, blummin German 'cuisine' - where is my minestrone with parmesan shavings?
I'd prefer torture though - made to drink his own soup perhaps?

OK, sounds fair 'nuff.
Seriously David, I'm having some issues with this "I don't like German food" rubbish... I mean it's not all Eisbein, Schnitzel and Sauerkraut
Something for the officer's mess:
1930's Gin bottle with US import and duty sticker - captured from ze Amis

I have some other original rations-related crap that I can bring along which will be familiar to anyone who has the Pool&Bock book. You can place them strategically about if you like - looks better than some kind of table display:
1930s Scho Ka Kola tin - refilled with modern Scho Ka Kola choccy (p.269)
wartime tin of peppermint drops (p.204)
ceramic Urquell beer bottle - can't be refilled (p.44)
first model Fanta and Afri-Cola bottles - these are washed and can be filled and drunk from (p.171/172)
Bahlsen pretzel tin - refilled with modern pretzels (p.37)
3 x paper coffee and cocoa bags - 1 empty (can be used for instant coffee), 2 filled and sealed (p.125)
also a couple of 1930s german wine labels that can be put onto modern bottles.
also 2 german newspapers from July 1944
Nice. Yeah, we don't do 'table displays' but try to portray a working camp - so bits and bobs make all the difference.
Excellent B&H
Just bagged a 1939 embossed German milk bottle from Swiss eBay. Might be a bit off by 1944, but meh..
I've also been experimenting with making fake/prop bread to look like field bakery produce, complete with date stamps on the crust.
Blimey, how sad am I???
Very! Keep it up!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Hopefully I can finally get my finger out and finish the labels required to deck out our supplies from the Fatherland. Much better than some of this Italian garbage we're had to suffer.
Yeah it's true the italian women are cheap, so's the plonk - but the bread is a bit to garlic for my liking
I miss some of Bavaria's finest smoked ham, biscuits from grandmutti and so on
Here's some of your Field Kitchen Martin..95% of it is a original 1914/1945 unissued French officers mess.
