It seems we may have enough people interested in ordering kit from Front of Russia to make a worthwhile order. If anyone who is interested can put down what they're after I'll see about getting a quote. I can ask about sorting out a package deal for anyone that is looking to get a proper Red army impression.

I'd like these items. I did email Alex about them and got a price but would definitely be up for some bulk order discount.

I think it looks better! It's good value as well. No need to buy insignia!

I agree I've always thought the M35 style uniform was more stylish than the M43. I guess because the M43 is actually the older design.

What, no trousers? :shock: :lol: The M43 Telogreika may be the better choice as they were reportedly used in the winter of 42 meaning the only time you can't use them is 1941.

He can borrow my M43s if he wants, although I've decided not to sell them now that they fit. :lol: I'm just waiting for confirmation that Alex has the breeches I'm after.

Ok the minimum I need and definately want is;
M43 gimnasterka XL & M43 galife breeches XL, this is item 19F but I don't need the belt & pilotka as I already have them.
23B WW2 Russian private's classical leg wraps
291B WW2 classical private's gasmask bag

With what I've already got that'll give me a workable russian loadout

There are a few other items that I'd like to get but it's dependant on what the total cost is going to be, they are;
24B WW2 Russian private's canvas breadbag
3C WW2 Russian private's battlefield ushanka hat L
14A M1941 Russian padded jacket telogreika XL
195B SKS-45 pouch - (unless they've got a proper SVT40 pouch)

Ok Pete, you'll want 34A and probably either 181A or 192A. The same breeches I'm asking about.
I wouldn't bother with the breadbag if you're going for an M43 uniform, they're early war only. Gas mask bags are plenty big enough to carry what you need although grenade pouches can be handy.
I'm not a fan of that Ushanka, personally I'd spend the extra $10 and buy 26C (or a bulgarian one ) but its up to you.
I'll ask about the SVT pouch. Ostfront have them, although only the canvas one in stock.

Unlucky on the timing. :slap: I hope your money gets found though. :shock: Thats the biggest problem with FoR. I wish he would get out of the dark ages with his payment methods. What were the transfer costs like btw?

Typical, I just placed an order with FoR a few days ago :slap:

And rather annoyingly/worryingly the money sent by moneygram transfer seems to have gone awol... :?

Did you use western union? It does seem like an overly complicated method of payment.

Had a look at them, the only thing is they seem to be more expensive than buying the complete uniform, if that's the case I might as well get the complete uniform and sell on the belt & pilotka

Fair enough scratch the breadbag, I've got a grenade pouch that'll take a couple of ball grenades, or are there bigger ones?

I'm not a fan of that Ushanka, personally I'd spend the extra $10 and buy 26C (or a bulgarian one ) but its up to you.

Having had a look I agree amend my choice to 26C

I'll ask about the SVT pouch. Ostfront have them, although only the canvas one in stock.

This ones not massively important it's just on the off chance that I get my SVT40 done, although with my record to date :roll: thats not very likely.

:? the first link is Front of Russia's website the second link comes up as not found, I have to say as far as I'm aware all the people on this forum who have dealt with FoR have been happy with what they've got from him.

Yes perhaps that might be the better option, I may do the same. I'll ask what uniforms he's prepared to include in the package as I'm after a gym without pockets and breeches without knee pads.

I've got a grenade pouch that'll take a couple of ball grenades, or are there bigger ones?

There is the RGD-33 pouch which will hold 2 stick grenades. Is yours a 2 or 3 pocket pouch? My 3 pocket will only hold 2 ball grenades but the middle pocket holds VSR mags nicely.

At the old forum I have send message to beth with links and opinions about web stores with russian items. this vvanker has been, unfortunately advertised (confirmed on other forums ) as one of the worst merchandiser closely described as cheater.

He has a reputation for being slow and sometimes inconsistant but I don't think I've ever heard of him being called a cheat. I've dealt with him in the past without issue, although I've learnt you have to be very specific with your order.
