Wooo, that was a bit tense! (Farby lighter though...) (possibly)
Pockets on their gymnastrokias as well
Interesting, anyone know the film title. There was a few encounters like that in the Henry Metelmann book `Through hell for Hitler`, lots of joviality, sharing biscuits and vodka. As soon as they returned to their own lines the Russians started shooting at the Germans...sneaky beggars.
The lighter's fine isn't it? I think Kermit has one of those.
So have I!
It's an IMCO lighter which were around in WW2 but not that actual design which is a triplex super, circa 1956. they are nice lighters though.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942
"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Ah yes, the old trpilex super 1956 version - I thought it was farby...
Nice link!
PS mine is this one:

I don't think its a film. I think its from a Russian BoB style series called Shtrafbat (Penal Batallion).

The ones with pockets are M35 tunics. Although non of them seem to have any insignia, I guess because they're a penal unit.
I did wonder... but I thought they'd not got collars... ah well... wrong again!

Just got home and had to check - its an ordinary current manufacture Triplex Super 6700 that cost a fiver IIRC.
And have just found out the ring at the top is a moveable windshield (I had no idea it moved ) and that by firing up as normal then pulling out the entire fuel tank you have a nice broad flame to light your pipe with.
(I'm easily excited
)
I want to know what film those clips are from ?
