I was hugely excited when this came out, ooh 10 years ago? I think it was the first M1911 that looked proper for WW2 - it has Colt trade marks. One the first shot I fired I blew the slide off.
Since that day the barrel collar has been fixed with a blob of hot glue (so easily removed for maintenance).
I have a love-hate relationship with pistols generally. Awesome to look at and handle and plink with but when you rely on them as a last-ditch means of survival you discover the mag has dropped out/slide full of dirt/too cold/nothing happens when you pull the trigger.
Still, I've always carried one pistol or another, on the off chance the dam things will fire when required!
This SCW Western Arms "U.S.M1911A1 military model" comes with original box and two mags. I don't have any gas to test it with and so assume the gas seals need plumping or replacing or otherwise titivated.
